Cohen, L.

Cohen, L

He is a troubadour
sets poems to music
he is a lyricist
a songwriter

Leonard Cohen
has a message

He is a troubadour
harkens from Montreal
sets message to music
a songwriter

When I listen
I am in the room

His voice draws me in
it expresses his emotion
while I listen to his words
a troubadour

I Made Me

I made me
in spite of them
am I arrogant
I might be
were they so bad

I made me
trying to avoid
being like
either of them
I succeed

What If

What If

What if
the sea rises
and grabs me up
with a wave so big
it sweeps me out to sea
and I can’t get back to shore
not a good swimmer I sink and rise
as the angry sea rolls me crest to crest
dunks me and pummels me as it takes me away
doesn’t like the taste of me spits me back on shore

See

See

Float in my bottle
see coral beneath

sea aqua reef
see coral beneath

Sea coral

Hum

Hum

Hum
silencing humming
no such thing

Hum
silence might
a menacing thing

Become
silence complete
a silence thing

On This Blank Page

On This Blank Page

I left it hanging out
this white blizzard
bereft of anything

Changed

Changed
from being the same old broken record

Changed
no longer play the martyr

Changed
unfrozen from old bonds

Changed
I’m free
