My Attraction?

My Attraction?

Bold
in control
skeptical
He bordered
on grim

Hold
in control
frightened
He repeated
again

Unwind
wind sigh
the threshold
not grim

Ninth Level
sweet saturate
under black
again

Neighbors II

Neighbors II

We like to ignore them
they like to ignore us too
we all need our privacy

If I had my druthers I’d
live in isolation out on
the land sea where we

across many miles could
see nothing except stars

April

She is lacy
edging on
saucy
she is Spring
earth still
warming
daffodils
April lacy

In This Fucking Shitty Little Room

In This Fucking Shitty Little Room

He just yelled all that at me
I have a really nice room
I’m happy here, except for
the person in the other room

He is banging around the kitchen
I am ensconced  in flame pink
the Spoonbill who I hope to see
the person in the other room

To Write a Poem

To Write A Poem

I search my soul
sole search I reach
to find the words
to hit you where it
counts

I Love a Bill

I was once wowed
a guy named Bill
I felt too wowed

I ran away till
I landed in the arms
I wasn’t wowed of

It felt safe
he would always love me
just like Lenny and the mouse

Neighbors

Last night I stayed in a hotel
I couldn’t hear neighbors, but
I knew I slept on layers, others
who shared pillows, mattress
laundered sheets, cleaned bath
and it seems intimate and weird
for their ghosts inhabit the space
and now my ghost is there and I
wonder at whether anyone else
has had a sense of former guests
who lied down to rest soul and body
against mental and physical fatigue
multitudes of neighbors share beds
we never know one another
yet we share a form of intimacy
in hotel rooms on lonely nights
