Conversation

Conversation

I wish it could have been a conversation
but you sent me an email instead
I can't interject
I have no reply

I wish it could have been a conversation
where I might become incredulous
where we might have stitched repair
I have no reply

I wish it could have been a conversation
rather than the hateful end
you chose
I have no reply

  1. Great conversation! Sometimes no reply is the best response of all.

  4. I hear the pain in this, Willow!
    There IS definitely something about an email;
and the words stand there staring at you
    on the page

  7. Such an interesting poem about the differences in face to face or phone and email. Email is easier but you can't see inflection or caring through harsh words. You can't talk it out. I always like to talk things out in email because I don't have to watch my words, I can just erase them and I can get everything out without being interruped and the same for receiving one. I have time to think things out before replying and before setting up a time to meet to talk it out after we have everything on the table. That is even how my daughters and I communicate a lot of the time. You give me lots of words for thought here, Willow.

  9. You are such a poet - taking this painful experience to art. I wish it had been a conversation too, and allowed for healing.
