owls are fabulous! There is one which lives in the tree at the bottom of my garden. It kewicks and kevecheeks all night some times. Love it, and love your poem. Thank you for sharing!
We have a pair on our property, too! I adore listening to them, catching their dark shadow images as they glide across the moonlit sky. Gifts to us, those creatures.
Ah, what a sight, I would love to see one in flight. One landed on our pool cage, didn't even see it come in. There it was with its yellow talons and its most beautiful self.
I am a lucky woman, my own owls, my own river otters, my own mating pair of great blue herons, my own wood ducks, my own palm warblers, our limpkins, vultures to take us away.
Oo soo lovely!! I love how having a tree helped you in having an owl! That is so beautiful..I want an owl too! You sure you're not a fellow Griffindor? ;)
A bit of a hoot?

I totally get this. When I see squirrels eating stuff in the yard, or ducks or turkeys merely existing, I feel contented for reasons I can't explain.
