Brown Orbs
Small brown orbs in his fat face
he blinked at me behind thick glasses
skin the color of alabaster
full lips turned down
He blinked at me behind thick glasses
I felt contempt in his bearing
full lips turned down
if he should smile his face might crack
I felt contempt in his bearing
I stuttered as I tried to speak
if he should smile his face might crack
I wanted to turn and flee
I stuttered as I tried to speak
"Here to learn poetry, Sir"
I wanted to turn and flee
"The class is filled you're too late"
Cracks appeared in white paste
skin the color of alabaster
leering warty lids closed over
small brown orbs in his fat face

Sounds like it's a good thing the class was full! Great description, and I enjoyed the repetition of the same line throughout. Very effective. Good to have you at Poets United!
ReplyDeleteEwww, can I ever envision this guy after reading your description. I wish I hadn't seen him! LOL
