September

My favorite month
I love the name
September

I love the month
when summer wanes
everything is calm

earth colors
soft swatches against
egg shell blue sky

I was born at the turn
from excitement to quiet
placid at the end of the dock

    Yes, I agree with Mary, that last stanza is wonderful. It could really stand on its own and still be perfect. My grandmother and my youngest grandson share your special birthday month, Willow. They and you are in good company!
