Grandmother
I kiss thin lips
touch skin
hanging loose
upper arms wave
in farewell gesture
I utter goodbye
take snapshots
I promise will be
sent to her and
other relatives
I stand rooted
know I won't
see her again

ReplyDeleteYa, sometimes we end up saying things we know won't happen; and the other person knows the same. End of life is always sad.
