Just Like Lightening
I was cooking
bringing it all together
It began lightening
dinner done
I cruised outside
for the light show
He ate alone
I couldn’t leave
Now I dine
on excellence
It is so good
sharp and peppery
just like lightening
There is no better banquet than excellence!
ReplyDeleteI sense there is a lot in this poem between the lines. I always get excited by lightening as well--it is a very rare thing here.
ReplyDeleteI find lightening exciting too. So did Kerry and soo does Bob. I love the image of lightening as peppery - the merging of different sensory channels. I'm glad you found some sensation and excellence for yourself, even though it meant he ate alone. Like Peggy, I feel ripples of meaning under this poem.
