Full Circle

Full Circle

"The golden serpent coiled
in the shape of an egg,
eating its own tail."

We come full circle in life
eating ourselves as we live
only to circle again, again

We shed our skin to grow
birth ourselves eating our tail
full circle we come round, live

  1. this is a rather haunting verse if for no other reason than its truth...nice dance in your words as well the subtle repetition of the eating ourselves or our own tail...

  2. Willow, an imaginatively rich full-circle poem! So much to think about.

  3. So "Willow-esque" my dear friend. Wonderful verse.

  4. Hmmm, I agree with Brian. There is something haunting in this circle. I have always said we eat each other alive. I never think of the fact perhaps we eat our own selves.
