Bad Date
Shape of his mouth
flitting over mine
pepper kisses
smother me
I fight for air inhaling
silent in the shade
copper color sands
whirl as I surface
in haze no grace
nice use of the words - hope its not too autobiographical
ReplyDeleteI love this poem, Willow, but it makes me feel like I am suffocating. LOL.
ReplyDeleteCross his name off your list. LOL
ReplyDeleteWell written piece. Welcome to The Sunday Whirl. I hope you play again.

Such a vampire!
ReplyDeleteI feel quite suffocated. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteI've had these suffocating kisses (barely remembered until I read this).
ReplyDeleteBrought back a long-suppressed memory, Willow, but my memory is laced with his breath of Chivas Regal Scotch.
ReplyDeleteLike the ending of this one: "in haze no grace". Kisses should always have a taste of grace in them. Your use of "pepper" was most appropriate.

It does indeed sound like a bad date. In haze no grace is perfect here. I remember these kinds of dates.
