Hitchhikers
Half moon shaped
sticky olive green
comb them out of
dog's hair
peel them free from
washed underwear
they followed me
all the way to NY
first, and now DC
made me think about
their tenacity
I transported them
to new fertile ground
it scared me
Those tag-a-longs show up everywhere for weeks after being tagged. Great description of how they cling and annoy.
ReplyDeleteI once spent over $1000 having a seed removed from my dog. According to the vet if it had moved an inch further it would have imbedded itself in her spine and she might have been paralysed. You are right, very scary things.

Yes, Willow, those darn seeds! they appear so innocuous but can annoy us and sometimes do damage. Your poem hits the mark!
